  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Dutch process cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk (for glaze)
  • 2 tsp vanilla (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, sour cream, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gently mix the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
  6. Spoon or pipe the batter into the donut pan molds halfway full.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  9. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth. Dip each cooled donut into the glaze.
