  • 2 tbsp water
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish
  • Chocolate shavings or curls (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three 8-inch round cake pans by greasing and lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix in the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Gradually stir in boiling water to achieve a smooth batter.
  5. Divide the batter among the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow cakes to cool in their pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
