  • 1 can (7oz) chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 8 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • Beef steak (flank or sirloin)
  • Seasonings: chipotle powder, chili powder, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, pepper

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine chipotle peppers, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, lime juice, cilantro, garlic, cumin, chili powder, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  2. Place the steak in a large bowl and pour the marinade over it. Reserve 1/4 cup of marinade for later use.
  3. Remove steak from marinade and let excess drip off.
  4. Heat a skillet over high heat with oil. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Let steak rest briefly before slicing against the grain. Cube it if desired and sauté in the reserved marinade for 20-30 seconds.
