  • 3 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1¼ cups chicken broth
  • 1¼ cups heavy cream
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and season chicken with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until golden brown; remove from skillet.
  3. Lower heat to medium, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet, sauté onions until soft, then add minced garlic and cook briefly.
  4. Sprinkle flour into the skillet while stirring to form a base. Gradually add chicken broth and heavy cream; simmer until thickened.
  5. Stir in honey, Velveeta cheese, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Combine the cooked penne with the sauce and return the chicken to the skillet; simmer gently until pasta absorbs flavors.
