Ingredients

Scale

For the Cod:
4 cod fillets (56 oz each)

For the Marinade:
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced

Optional Glaze:
1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water

For Garnish:
Green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds
Optional red pepper flakes or sriracha

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, honey (or maple syrup), rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.
  • Place cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour marinade over them. Let marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Remove cod from marinade (reserve marinade) and cook fish 3–4 minutes per side until flaky and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
  • Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Bring to a simmer. If you want a thicker glaze, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until glossy.
  • Spoon the glaze over the cod.
  • Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and optional heat. Serve warm.
