  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas in a bowl; mix in brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs until well combined.
  5. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; fold into the mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in mashed banana mixture gently.
  7. Pour into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes (9×5 pan) or 35-40 minutes (two 8×4 pans) until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
