  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup finely diced red onion
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 4 oz full-fat cream cheese (cubed)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes (julienned)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary leaves
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • Extra Parmesan for serving to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the cabbage into 8 wedges, keeping the core intact.
  3. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and sear each cabbage wedge for about 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  4. Reduce heat, add butter, diced onion, and minced garlic; cook until soft (about 3–4 minutes).
  5. Pour in chicken broth to deglaze the pan; add cream cheese and whisk until smooth.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, sun-dried tomatoes, herbs, salt, and pepper; simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Fold in grated Parmesan until melted.
  8. Place cabbage wedges into the sauce, cover with foil or a lid, and bake for about 45 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving; garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
