  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large ripe bananas, mashed

  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil

  • ½ cup Nutella (plus more for swirling)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a muffin tin with liners or grease it lightly.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix mashed bananas with sugar until smooth; then stir in the egg and vegetable oil.
  4. Add vanilla extract and Nutella to the banana mixture; mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture without overmixing.
  6. If desired, gently fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Spoon the batter into muffin cups about two-thirds full and swirl additional Nutella on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling for at least five minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
