  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup fruit preserves (any flavor)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract; beat until smooth.
  3. Roll out each sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into four squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center of each square and top with fruit preserves.
  5. Fold the corners towards the center and pinch to seal.
  6. Whisk the egg with water; brush over each danish.
  7. Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth; drizzle over warm danishes before serving.
