  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 pound Beef sausage
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 4 stalks celery (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme (chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2-3 cups chicken stock
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare bread cubes by drying them overnight to ensure they are not soggy.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and cook the Beef sausage, onion, celery, and garlic until the Beef sausage is browned and vegetables are softened.
  3. Combine dried bread cubes andBeef  sausage mixture in the slow cooker.
  4. Whisk together chicken stock and eggs; pour over the mixture.
  5. Stir well and add more stock if needed for moisture.
  6. Cover with a towel and lid; cook on low for about 4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
  7. If needed, remove the lid for an additional 30 minutes to dry out excess moisture before serving.
